Adil Mohammad and Aaliah Mohamed have both been recognised at the Lancashire Apprenticeship Awards, which celebrate and recognise the hardworking individuals and organisations involved in apprenticeships and how they shape our future. 

Aaliah was awarded Technology and Digital Apprentice of the Year following an outstanding start as a Software Tester Apprentice. Since joining in September 2024, she has quickly become an integral part of the digital team, contributing to the successful delivery of key projects by ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and user ready. Her dedication and drive saw her complete her apprenticeship six months ahead of schedule, while her collaborative approach and involvement in outreach initiatives have helped inspire future apprentices.  

Adil received Engineering Apprentice of the Year, recognising his exceptional progression and impact within network operations. Beginning his journey as a Cable Jointing apprentice, he has rapidly advanced into a Hub Technician (Control Engineer) role, where he plays a vital part in managing our network. Adil completed the three-year apprenticeship in just under 18 months showing remarkable commitment, capability and his approach and willingness to support colleagues made him a standout performer.

The win comes on the back of a record-breaking year for SP Electricity North West’s apprentice programe, with a record number of applications for our 2026 programme surpassing 2,200 for 31 roles. We saw a 50% increase compared to 2025 and it’s never been a more exciting time to join our industry and growth our future talent.
