David Morris MP backs Electricity North West’s priority service for vulnerable customers

David Morris, MP for Morecombe and Lunesdale has given his support to Electricity North West’s priority service register which is available for all vulnerable customers across the North West during a power cut.

The region’s network power operator offers extra support to vulnerable customers during power cuts, including older people or those with a medical dependency on electricity, and MP David Morris is urging those customers in Morecambe and Lunesdale to register.

David Morris, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, said: “I am pleased to be part of the campaign to ensure vulnerable residents in Morecambe and Lunesdale are protected during the winter.

“During the Storm Desmond power outages last year the most correspondence I received was from worried relatives of vulnerable people. Making sure your relatives are registered with the Priority Service Register means that their needs will be assessed by Electricity North West and their power will be restored as a priority if there is an outage.”

Stephanie Trubshaw, head of customer experience for Electricity North West, said: “We’re delighted that MP David Morris is supporting our Priority Service Register and that he is helping us to highlight the vital support on offer to our vulnerablecustomers in Morecambe and Lunesdale.

"Thankfully power cuts are rare, but when they do happen we are on hand to offer extra support so that you are safe and comfortable in your own home while our engineers are working hard to restore power.”
