  • Progress has been made overnight in restoring the power network and getting customers back on supply
  • 88 customers are currently off supply
  • Around 56 customers in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester remain off supply. Door-to-door safety checks have to be completed before these properties can be safely re-connected to the network
  • In Bolton, Rochdale and Wigan the company had removed supplies whilst safety checks were undertaken. This work is progressing well and only 32 customers are currently off supply
  • Supplies were restored to 136 customers served by the Market Rochdale and Pioneers substation in Rochdale town centre overnight
  • 25 generators are still connected to support supplies in the Rochdale area therefore customers continue to be asked, where they can, to conserve energy
  • Please contact us immediately if your property has no power and is not included in the above list so that we can understand and resolve your issue
  • Customers who have been flooded but did not lose power supply are also asked to contact the Company as safety checks should be carried out on your electricity connection
  • Resources are being put in place and vulnerable customers are being contacted to response to the Met Office severe weather warning for tonight

Engineers, including inspectors and meter operators from electricity suppliers, are continuing door to door safety checks in Radcliffe, Bolton, Rochdale and Wigan today to inspect and repair affected equipment. These safety checks have to be completed before properties can be safely re-connected to the network.

Power has also been restored to the 136 customers supplied by the Market Rochdale and Pioneers substations in Rochdale. As substation repairs are completed in Rochdale, power supply will be restored to the network. This can cause a temporary loss of supply to customers. Customers in Rochdale are asked to continue to conserve power where they are able to today.

In line with Met Office severe weather warnings, the Company will today put resources in place to respond to the high winds and rainfall forecast for tonight. The Company is also proactively contacting vulnerable customers to ensure that appropriate support is in place for them. The Company is appealing to any customers not in the area listed above who are still off supply to get in touch so that their issue can be addressed. Customers who have been flooded but did not lose power supply are also asked to contact the Company as safety checks should be carried out on your electricity connection. We have restored our power network and will spend today removing generators and reconnecting our customers to the network.

“It has been a challenging time for the communities in our region and we continue to be grateful for the goodwill and support that has seen shown to our colleagues by all of our customers. We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we have undertaken this work.”
