Electricity North West  has launched its largest-ever flexibility tender, offering £12 million in potential revenue for participating Flexibility Service Providers (FSPs) across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, and Cumbria.

The tender calls for 897 MW of flexibility services across 100 eligible locations in the region.

Continuing to expand access to flexibility markets, Electricity North West’s latest tender includes increased opportunities on the low voltage (LV) network, alongside existing opportunities on the high voltage and extra high voltage networks.

The company says that the addition of LV requirements across 67 eligible locations marks a significant step towards broadening participation from residential flexibility and energy efficiency providers.

Ben Grunfeld, strategy and growth director at Electricity North West, said: “By continuing to expand our LV flexibility requirements, we’re creating opportunities for smaller providers and aggregators, which is a great way for homes, businesses and communities to play an active role in shaping a smarter, more sustainable energy system.

“Whether it’s households with solar panels or EV chargers, or schools and small businesses looking to become more energy efficient there’s real potential to unlock local benefits.

“I’d encourage anyone interested in learning more about flexibility markets to get in touch and find out how they can participate and potentially earn some extra revenue.”

The LV requirements can be met through two flexibility products: peak reduction and scheduled utilisation. These products aim to increase residential and smaller-scale provider involvement and promote innovation in community energy projects.

The tender will be hosted on the ElectronConnect platform and more information is available at www.enwl.co.uk/flex.
