Network operator Electricity North West is hosting a free roadshow in Whitefield next week where its experts will be available to discuss how the network is transforming and how smarter electricity systems benefits their customers and communities.
The Future Energy Roadshow will take place at Stand Cricket Club in Hamilton Road, Whitefield, on Tuesday 15th November, from 1pm to 6pm.
The Electricity North West flexible services team will be there to explain the process for those who are able to adjust their electricity consumption or generation and in return, receive a payment.
Businesses will be able to meet members of the Net Zero for Business support team and get free advice and support on how to reduce their energy bills and carbon emissions.
And there will be help for communities considering setting up their own community energy group, which can bring real economic and social benefits by installing solar panels, heat pumps or electric vehicle charging points, for example.
Cara Blockley, Head of Distribution System Operation at Electricity North West, said: “Most of us are worried about the cost of living crisis as well as climate change. When looking to solutions for these challenges, affordable and clean energy can help to address both.
“We’re looking to connect with local communities to discuss the future of energy, starting with Whitefield, Bury. If you would like to understand how energy efficiencies can help reduce bills and carbon emissions as well as finding out more on low carbon technologies and solutions, our experts will be there to answer your questions.
“This event is open to all and we’re looking forward to welcoming residents, businesses and community groups from the area.”
