More than 400 engineers will continue to work through the afternoon to repair the damage and restore power to the final 300 customers in North Lakes.

Mark Williamson, incident manager for Electricity North West, said: “I’m extremely proud of the work carried out today and yesterday by our engineers to repair the damage and restore power to customers after the severe weather.
“We’re making great progress and I want to reassure customers that our job isn’t finished until the last customer is back on.
“We would like to thank customers for the support and patience as we work to restore power as quickly as we can.
“We’re also closely monitoring the weather this afternoon and tonight, but we’re doing everything we possibly can and won’t stop until every property has their power back on.”

If customers see any lines down, or branches or debris hanging from lines, Electricity North West is urging them to stay away and call them as soon as possible on 105.
