MP urges Bolton residents to join priority service

Yasmin Qureshi, MP Bolton South East, has given her support to Electricity North West’s priority service register which is available for all customers across the North West who need extra help during a power cut.

The region’s network power operator offers extra support to customers during power cuts, including older people or those with a medical dependency on electricity, and MP Yasmin Qureshi is urging those customers in Bolton South East to register.

MP Yasmin Qureshi, said: “Electricity North West offers an impressive range of welfare services for customers to help during power cuts. As well as keeping you and your family informed, they can offer home visits and welfare packs to help to keep you warm. They also work in partnership with the British Red Cross to ensure that customers are safe until their electricity comes back on.

“I would urge any of my older constituents or those with medical needs to sign up for the Priority Service Register as soon as possible.”

Stephanie Trubshaw, head of customer experience for Electricity North West, said: “We’re delighted that MP Yasmin Qureshi is supporting our Priority Service Register and that she is helping us to highlight the vital support on offer to our customers in Bolton South East.

“Thankfully power cuts are rare, but when they do happen we are on hand to offer extra support so that you are safe and comfortable in your own home while our engineers are working hard to restore power.”
