National showcase for North West energy innovation

The region’s power network operator, Electricity North West, is showcasing leading energy innovation which could benefit every home and business in the country at its first annual learning event today.

Around a hundred delegates will discover how Electricity North West is investing over £10 million a year to transform the way electricity is delivered to millions of customers, in projects that could be rolled out nationwide.

Electricity North West is leading the way to a low carbon future as demand for electricity in the UK is expected to increase significantly as more and more people start to use renewable energy and low carbon technologies, such as electric cars and heat pumps.

Delegates from across the energy industry will be able to learn about the innovative projects Electricity North West is leading on, as well as how they will deliver significant benefits to customers through their innovation strategy which aims to make the most of Steve Cox, engineering and technical director for Electricity North Westthe existing electricity network, combined with new technology and creative thinking.
