The region’s power operator walked away with ‘The Best Commercial Fleet Livery of the Year’, ‘Utilities Commercial Fleet of the Year’ and fleet manager Graham Davies was also highly commended in the ‘Commercial Fleet Manager of the Year’ category.
More than 600 delegates attended the awards, which are organised by Commercial Fleet and celebrate the very best in the commercial fleet industry.
Electricity North West is the first utility in the UK to achieve ‘Van Excellence’ accreditation and have focused on vehicle safety with the introduction of rev limiters, cameras and daily safety checks that all drivers must complete.
Last year the power operator also rebranded its fleet, which are used by engineers working on the power network across the region, after research revealed that 17% of people said they had heard about Electricity North West via the ‘van livery’.
Graham Davies, fleet manager for Electricity North West, said: “We are delighted to receive the awards and it feels like the icing on the cake after also winning the Fleet Van Operator of the Year award at the Motor Transport Awards in the summer.
“We have worked hard to ensure our fleet of 1,200 vehicles are both safe and as environmentally friendly as possible to allow our engineers to carry out their job of keeping the lights on across the North West.”
