The area’s power network operator invited Chris Green MP to see firsthand how power is provided to the local area and the essential maintenance work that is carried out by engineers year round.
Electricity North West invests around £130m every year in upgrading and maintaining 13,000km of overhead power lines, 44,000km of underground cable and more than 90,000 electricity substations to help ensure five million customers across the North West receive the power they need every day. The company’s engineers also provide an emergency response 24-hours a day to fix power cuts and get people back on supply.
