Utility of the Year

Electricity North West has scooped the highly prestigious industry award, Utility of the Year.

The power network operator has been named Utility of the Year, fending off competition from several other high-profile national businesses including Octopus Energy, UK Power Networks and Ecotricity.

In addition to being awarded Utility of the Year, Electricity North West also received the Innovation award for its Net Zero Terrace project.

Ian Smyth, Chief Executive Officer at Electricity North West, said: “This award is testament to a tremendous year for the business.

“We’ve achieved some fantastic results recording our best-ever performances for customer satisfaction, network reliability, safety, innovation, storm response and keeping our customers’ bills some of the lowest across the industry.

“As a business, we strive to be the best and work hard to provide the best possible service we can to our customers in the region.”

The Utility Week Awards celebrate the gold standard of achievement for UK utilities – recognising those who go above and beyond to enhance the reputation of the sector through performance, innovation and value for customers.

Electricity North West was recognised for ‘constantly punching above its weight and using innovation to solve industry challenges’ when being named Utility of the Year.

Its Net Zero Terrace project, which claimed the Innovation award, provides affordable low carbon energy and healthy warm homes at no upfront cost.
