Cooling electricity substations could cut fuel bills
The North West’s local power network operator, Electricity North West, is trialling a range of cooling techniques at 100 substations across the region which will help prepare the electricity network for renewable energy and keep costs down for customers.

Throughout July our region has enjoyed even more sunshine. Thankfully the warm weather didn’t cause any issues on the network unlike in June where our engineers attended heat related faults and supported emergency services at fires at Winter Hill and Saddleworth Moor.
