Engineers from Electricity North West continue to work day and night to restore power to the remaining 1,000 customers in Cumbria after the severe flooding on Saturday.

Teams from the network are continuing to work around the clock and began gradually restoring power from 06.30 following through-the-night repairs to the main substation in the area.

Engineers from Electricity North West have restored power to a further 1,200 customers in Cumbria.

The power supply to 42,000 customers in Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth was lost at 4pm this afternoon.

Engineers from Electricity North West have restored power to all but 300 customers in Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding area.

Engineers from Electricity North West have restored power to 45,000 homes in Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding area and are continuing efforts to restore the remaining 10,000 later this morning.

The power supply to 42,000 customers in Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth has been lost at 4pm this afternoon.

Having assessed the damage caused by flooding that has resulted in further loss of supply at Lancaster, our engineers have plans in place to begin the restoration of supplies from approximately 0800 on 8 December.

Engineers from Electricity North West are working hard in extremely difficult conditions to restore the remaining 2,657 properties in Cumbria and 300 in Lancaster and surrounding areas.

Electricity North West is continuing to work throughout the night to restore power to customers where possible.

Electricity North West has asked for support from partners and other electricity networks around the country to provide additional generators to the area to restore power to priority customers in Lancaster.

Electricity North West engineers have now restored power to 24,000 homes in Cumbria and Lancashire since Saturday morning, including 11,000 in Lancaster affected by flooding at a major substation.
